Can Tho uses Artificial Intelligent (AI) and Virtual Reality (VR) to improve visitor’s experience
In the past, Can Tho city applied digital technology into tourism websites and tourism trading floor in Can Tho to meet the demand of visitors and businesses. Now, the city will continue to apply AI and VR to improve visitor’s experience.

Thanks to the application of digital technology to tourism websites and tourism trading floor in Can Tho, visitors and businesses can find necessary information such as digital tourism map, online advice, guide and digital payment method.
The city tourism department also supports visitors through software such as 3D VR travel experience, application for scanning QR codes at sightseeing locations, automatic dubbing system at several historical – cultural relics.
At the conference about the digitalization of tourism, held in Can Tho city on the morning of December 6th, the representative of Can Tho Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism claimed, after the Covid-19 Plague, tourism needs to digitalize the data system from the basics like destination, tourism products to service providers along the value chain. The purpose of this digitalization is to meet the visitor demand to visit, experience and to support the connection of tourism businesses.
Can Tho is cooperating with multiple telecommunication corporations including VNPT and Viettel to digitalize tourism data, construct a smart tourism system and produce software for local tourism activities.
According to VNPT Can Tho reports, after the trial of smart tourism system, this trial attracted 292 businesses, 65 traveling companies to participate.
In the future, the involved units seek to upgrade a smart tourism system with the use of AI and VR to improve customer experience and strengthen the device that connect and transmit data.
