The 6th "Tourism Festival - Ninh Kieu Lantern Night, Can Tho" 2023 is expected to take place in 3 days from December 28th to 30th, 2023 in Cai Khe ward and Tan An ward, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City.

The event was chaired by the People's Committee of Ninh Kieu District, in coordination with the Can Tho City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organizes to create a tourism highlight of Ninh Kieu District and Can Tho City, especially MICE tourism and river tourism. This is an opportunity to continue promoting traditional cultural values with typical tourism, and also to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Can Tho City under the Central Government (2004 - 2024) and the 20th anniversary establishment of Ninh Kieu District.

 

The opening ceremony will be held at 6:00 p.m on December 28, 2023 at Song Hau Park (Cai Khe ward) with a city-level event scale. Activities will take place at Ninh Kieu Park (Tan An ward).

 

Within the framework of the event, many activities will take place such as: Designing model water lanterns with an expected scale of 160 units; Light art performance on the river with the theme "Tay Do Dragon Light"; flower lantern release activity; street music performance, traditional folk music performance; booths for tourism promotion and showing products, and the booth of "Cake - folk cuisine".

 

The festival promises to bring a joyful and exciting atmosphere to people and tourists when visiting Ninh Kieu District in particular and Can Tho City in general during the New Year time and on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Can Tho City established under the Central Government.
